Dookan is an online marketplace that connects customers with independent local shops (merchants) and independent delivery partners.

Dookan is an intermediary under Section 2(1)(w) of the Information Technology Act, 2000. The merchant is the seller of the goods and is responsible for the quality, quantity, packaging, weights, measures and applicable licences of the products it sells.

You must be 18 years or older to create an account and place orders.

You are responsible for the accuracy of your name, mobile number and delivery address, and for keeping your login credentials safe.

One email address is linked to one account type — customer, merchant, delivery partner or administrator.

Placing an order is an offer to buy. The contract is formed only when a nearby shop accepts and confirms the order.

Stock lies with local shops, so an item may become unavailable after you order. In that case the item or order may be cancelled and any amount paid for it is refunded.

Delivery times shown are estimates and are not guaranteed.

You may not misuse the platform — no fraudulent orders, abusive behaviour towards shop staff or delivery partners, resale of goods bought at customer prices, scraping, or attempts to break platform security.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms or applicable law.

To the extent permitted by law, Dookan's liability for any order is limited to the value of that order.

Dookan is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for events beyond reasonable control such as strikes, weather, network failures or government restrictions.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at the place of Dookan's registered office have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to the consumer's rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 to approach the appropriate consumer forum.
